Week 10's fantasy football rankings
Plus, the latest injury news and a preview of Thursday night's game to help you prepare your lineups.
Week 10 news you might be able to use…
Kyler Murray has officially been activated to Arizona’s 53-man roster ahead of Arizona’s game against the Falcons in Week 10. His return to the lineup will make players like Marquise Brown, Trey McBride, and Michael Wilson much better fantasy options for the rest of the season.
Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields (right thumb) logged limited practices on both Monday and Tuesday ahead of the team’s Thursday night showdown. In a short week, the Bears may look to keep Tyson Bagent under center to protect Fields as the Bears are largely out of all races outside of the one for the No. 1 pick, and the injury is to Fields’ throwing hand. A more official status should come out soon.
The Cardinals have designated RB James Conner to return from IR. He has missed the last four games with a knee injury. Fantasy managers should expect the team to ease him back in before he returns to his bell-cow duties for the Cardinals.
Khalil Herbert notched full participation in practice on both Monday and Tuesday as he aims to return from injured reserve. Herbert is aiming to be activated from his 21-day practice window to return to the field Thursday night, but while his progress looks promising, his situation should remain monitored.
Ryan Tannehill is now the backup for the Titans. Despite the loss last Thursday, Will Levis showed enough for the Titans to roll with him as the starter moving forward. He likely doesn’t hold too much value as a starter in 1-QB leagues, but could hold value in 2-QB and superflex leagues for fantasy managers.

Quarterbacks
Sam Howell (WAS)
Howell continues to be an absolute enigma at the QB position, but with how suspect the Commanders’ defense will be the rest of the year, Howell is the ultimate pick-up and QB play off the waivers. This week, he gets a Seattle defense that has amazing defensive backs, which gives me a little pause, but I think he will get enough volume to have a good fantasy day. This could be a nice garbage time game for Sam.
Derek Carr (NO)
Carr had another solid week last week, so we’re going back to the well with him. He gets a Minnesota defense that hasn’t had much luck stopping the pass all year, hopefully leading to some easy points for Carr. The biggest thing going against Carr right now is that Taysom Hill is getting so many QB snaps, especially in the red zone. Minnesota will also put up more points than the Bears did last week, which will force Carr and the Saints to match.
Will Levis (TEN)
Levis came back down to earth this week against the Steelers, but he was officially named the Titans starting QB going forward. It is tempting to play him this week against a Tampa defense that just gave up historic passing numbers to C.J. Stroud, but I’d rather stash Levis if I can.
Defense/Special Teams
Steelers D/ST
Nothing changed from last week when we looked ahead and told you to stash the Steelers; the Packers still look like an offense without an identity. If the Steelers offense can get the lead, then TJ Watt should have a field day in this one. The Rams had four sacks and two fumble recoveries last week against this inept Packers defense; pick up the Steelers and hope they do the same or even more damage.
Raiders D/ST
As someone who lost a fantasy matchup last week due to the Jets being so bad that the Chargers D/ST scored 26 (I needed them to just not score 23), I can tell you firsthand that it’s a good idea to play a D/ST against a Zach Wilson-led offense. You may be scared to start an average Raiders defense, but just remember the Chargers’ defense looked average all year before the Jets made them look like the 1985 Chicago Bears. While the Raiders defense isn’t going to scare anyone, I think Maxx Crosby and the boys can do enough against this weak Jets offense to get you some valuable points.

What to expect Thursday night
Fantasy analysis for Thursday night’s matchup between the Panthers and Bears courtesy of 5th Down’s Neil Forbord…
Elite start
Unfortunately, I don’t think either team will provide an elite start this week. Inconsistency has played a factor for both teams so far this year. Adam Thielen almost made the list, but it’s hard to trust the Panthers.
Solid start
Adam Thielen – After a down week, the Bears defense is just what the doctor ordered. Chicago is giving up 256.88 passing yards and 2.2 passing touchdowns per game. This leaves plenty of room for Thielen to do some damage, as he has seen double-digit targets in four of the last six weeks. This will heavily be based on how much pressure the Bears give Bryce Young throughout the game. The positive here is that the Bears are dead last in sacks per game. If Young has some time, Thielen should be able to thrive on Thursday.
Projection: 7 catches for 85 receiving yards and 1 touchdown
Flex-worthy start
Chuba Hubbard/Miles Sanders – Carolina seems to be in a full-on RBBC with Sanders and Hubbard. Hubbard has shown some promise over the last few weeks, but the Panthers have a lot of money tied to Sanders. The Bears are very solid against the run, currently allowing a league-best 3.3 yards per carry and only 79.6 rushing yards per game. I would recommend starting someone else, but with the bye weeks, you could do much worse.
Projections
Sanders – 3 catches for 52 all-purpose yards
Hubbard – 4 catches for 65 all-purpose yards
