Week 16 news you might be able to use…
Josh Jacobs is trending towards playing in Week 16, per head coach Antonio Pierce. Jacobs missed the Raiders’ last contest with a quad injury. The veteran running back will have had 11 days off to recover and suit up for the Raiders on Monday against the Chiefs.
With starting QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) appearing unlikely to be ready for Week 16, veteran Case Keenum is in line to start a second straight game, this time against the Browns. Keenum had some struggles in the Texans’ OT win in Week 15 but also showed a willingness to sling the ball. If Nico Collins (calf) is able to return, it would be a big boost to the passing offense and Keenum.
Michael Pittman Jr., who suffered a concussion on a brutal hit during the Colts Week 15 win, was a limited participant in the team’s walkthrough Wednesday. Often, players who suffer a concussion cannot play the following week, but Pittman has the benefit of an extra day of rest, so perhaps he can pass through the protocol by Sunday.
Rhamondre Stevenson, who has missed the past two games with an ankle injury, is still not at Patriots’ practice ahead of the team’s Week 16 clash with Denver. If Stevenson is out or limited, veteran Ezekiel Elliott will again be asked to carry the load in the New England backfield.
