📰 Week 2 news you can use
Key injuries to track and other happenings heading into this weekend.
Christian McCaffrey (SF, RB) — We won’t need to wait for game-time this week to know that Jordan Mason will be the starting RB for the 49ers. McCaffrey has been ruled out, and may even be placed on the IR before long, which would keep him sidelined for at least four games.
A.J. Brown (PHI, WR) — He wasn’t on our injury radar early this week, but now he has a hamstring issue that limited him at Friday’s practice. Since he plays Monday night, you’ll have to monitor this one closely and make a call as to whether you want to leave him in your starting lineup.
Jake Ferguson (DAL, TE) — Despite Jerry Jones and the Dallas coaching staff spewing optimism this week to the contrary, Ferguson will indeed be sidelined for at least one game with his sprained MCL. Luke Schoonmaker moves into the starting TE slot, but WR Brandin Cooks could benefit the most from a fantasy perspective.
Injury watch lighting round: Bears WR Keenan Allen (heel) will be a game-time decision, as will rookie Rome Odunze (knee), for Sunday night football … Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (oblique) is doubtful to play, making Zach Charbonnet a fantasy RB2 … Lions WR Jameson Williams (ankle) is questionable after three-straight limited practices. … It is possible Packers QB Jordan Love plays, but not likely. Another question mark for Green Bay is WR Jayden Reed.
