Week 3's fantasy football rankings
Plus, the latest player news and notes to help you prepare your lineups.
Hey all,
Today, I have the latest top news to be aware of, some players to target on the wire, and our initial Week 3 fantasy football rankings for all scoring formats.
Since these complete rankings are exclusive to paying Playbook subscribers, they are password protected, so please note that below. As always, these will be updated as the week progresses, so check back as needed.
I am STILL working on a better solution for accessing the premium content that won’t require a new password every week and will keep you posted, but for now please keep accessing as you have been!
I’ll be back in touch with the full playbook this weekend.
Thank you and be well.
Justin
P.S. — As you may already know, FantasyPros.com rates the accuracy of player rankings submitted by “fantasy football experts” like yours truly. 5th Down’s rankings have traditionally scored well over the years. If you’re wondering how I’m doing so far this year, they currently rank 15th out of 198.
Week 3 news you can use
Typically, no news is good news in fantasy football, but here’s the latest on key injuries to help you plan your lineups this week.
Brandon Aiyuk is officially questionable and will be a game-time decision for Thursday night’s game against the Giants. If he’s ruled out ahead of kickoff, Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings should both be more involved in his absence.
Saquon Barkley is likely to miss a few weeks with an ankle sprain. Matt Breida operated as the top back after his injury, but rookie Eric Gray, who was also inactive in Week 2, could factor in as well.
Jamaal Williams is dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered during Monday’s win over the Panthers. Frank Reich said that it may take ‘some time’ for him to return, so it’s looking like rookie Kendre Miller will be in line for a big workload against the Packers.
Anthony Richardson had to leave Sunday’s game after he hit his head on the turf, and now, he’s going through the NFL’s concussion protocols. He hasn’t practiced this week and his status for Week 3 seems quite iffy.
Breece Hall is practicing this week but remains limited. He seems primed to improve after only getting four touches in Week 2, but this week might not be the best opportunity to get him going with the Jets playing against a tough Patriots defense.
