Award-winning fantasy football player rankings
5th Down Fantasy publishes player rankings for each week of the NFL regular and postseason, plus annual re-draft and dynasty league player rankings, which are updated frequently throughout the year.
Since 2011, we’ve let our friends at FantasyPros rate our fantasy football rankings for accuracy. Between 2011 and 2015, as lead fantasy football analysts for The New York Times, our preseason player rankings and weekly player rankings were both rated as the second most accurate among all fantasy football experts in the United States.
More recently, over the past three seasons (2020 – 2022), our annual re-draft rankings rate as the 18th most accurate out of the 133 experts who have been graded. In the 11 seasons that our weekly rankings have been analyzed for accuracy, we’ve finished in the top 5 four times, the top 15 once, and within the top 40 three times out of the nearly 200 experts that have been rated in each of the past several seasons.

About 5th Down Fantasy
Founded by former New York Times sports journalist Justin Sablich in 2016, 5thDownFantasy.com (2016 – 2024) quickly grew into a favorite destination for fantasy football fanatics looking for smart and free fantasy football analysis. We were also the leading writing platform for fantasy enthusiasts who sought to establish themselves in the fantasy sports journalism space, as well as long-time fantasy players itching to share their wisdom with the masses.
Justin teamed up with his brother, Jason, from 2010 — 2017 to provide fantasy football analysis and player rankings for The New York Times, where the “Sablich Brothers” established themselves as leading authorities in fantasy sports analysis.
Justin Sablich — Founder and Managing Editor
Justin has been a cross-platform journalist since graduating from Syracuse University in 2006. He spent over 10 years at The New York Times, where he somehow convinced the sports editors to let him and his brother, Jason, write about fantasy football for several years.
Justin spent eight years as an NYT sports journalist, attending five Super Bowls and two Olympics and covering everything from live baseball at Yankee Stadium to U.S. Open tennis. He went on to lead NYT’s digital travel coverage before working for several other publications and organizations as a writer, content strategist, and audience developer. He is currently a senior content strategist and editor with Devex.
